Parliament meets for one week a month in Strasbourg in full plenary session to debate and vote draft legislation and to discuss EU policies. A number of additional two-day plenary sessions are held in Brussels. The week before plenary sessions is usually reserved for meetings of the political groups to prepare their position in Plenary. The other two weeks per month are occupied by Committee meetings. Throughout the year, a number of weeks have been especially earmarked for upholding contacts between MEPs and citizens.
