They would form part of a team based at Europe House in Valletta geared to explaining the role of the European Parliament and its impact on Maltese citizens.

University graduates looking to enhance the knowledge they acquired during their studies may do so through paid traineeships being offered by the European Parliament Office in Malta. Graduates may apply for five-month-long paid traineeships offered by the EP, under the General Option or Journalism Option (Schuman Scholarships). The remuneration of paid trainees engaged by the European Parliament typically amounts to approximately €700 a month.

Unpaid traineeships, awarded for a period of between one and four months, are ideal for University of Malta undergraduates or students attending a vocational or technical college (such as MCAST or ITS) who wish to enhance their knowledge on the European Union and broaden their curriculum vitae.
In the case of unpaid traineeships priority is given to young people who are required to complete a traineeship as part of their course of studies.

Those interested in being in the next intake of traineeships have to apply before 1 October 2009 at midnight for unpaid traineeships and 15 October 2009 at midnight for paid traineeships (see tables below).

In all cases, applicants must have a good command of Maltese and English. Interested applicants for both paid and unpaid traineeships are advised not to leave it till the last day. Young people wishing to undertake traineeships at European Parliament Offices in other EU Member States may apply through the same channels.
