Lux Prize finalist film screenings in Valletta - May 2011
The Valletta EPIO held the screenings of the three finalist films of the Lux Prize 2010 last week on three successive evenings (24, 25, 26 May). The film nights brought to a close the Europe Day 2011 events in Malta.
The event was a major success judging from the public attendance as well the informal feedback of guests. Each evening started with the screening of a film preceeded by a 5-minute introduction about the Lux Prize and the EP's work on culture promotion by the Head of Office. At the end of each film, guests were invited to participate in an informal discussion held on the terrace of Europe House, during which we offered them some refreshments. For each film, the EP Office in Valletta invited a critic to share some thoughts about the films so as to spark off a discussion with the guests - an innovation over last year which was well-received.
